Musculoskeletal (MSK)

MSK Physiotherapy aims to help improve and manage issues affecting muscles, joints and soft tissues such as ligaments and tendons.

  • This is done via thorough assessment, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Appropriate treatment for adults, teens and children is offered.
  • Treatment usually takes the form of manual therapy and involves the setting of short and long term goals to ensure that recovery continues.
  • Treatment may also involve a rehabilitation and a maintenance programme to prevent future recurrence of pain.
  • Once the patient has entered the rehabilitation phase, the focus will shift to establishing normal movement, building strength and conditioning.
  • This might be in the form of a home exercise programme, clinical Pilates sessions, or an exercise prescription achievable in a gym or home setting.

Dellie’s belief that people can reduce discomfort via a combination of treatment and exercise informs her approach to physiotherapy. She is keen for patients to resolve their issues by educating them to protect their bodies.

Dellie’s technique is to establish the root cause of a patient’s pain and create a treatment plan.  She empowers clients to live more comfortable and confident lives by equipping them with the relevant, practical knowledge and exercises, which enables them to strengthen their bodies and prevent recurrence of injury.

As a mother of three, one field that interests Dellie greatly is children’s and young adults physiotherapy. Childhood injuries through sport or sudden growth is an area that particularly concerns her, as she is passionate about children being active and enjoying sport without suffering injuries. She provides support for both children and their parents in dealing with and recovering from overuse of muscles and ligaments.

Long term patients are never my goal – I want to heal people so that they are able to live their lives with confidence and freedom.
